Jig (2013)

The Swannanoa Gathering is a series of week-long traditional music camps held every summer near Asheville, North Carolina, at the beautiful Warren Wilson College campus in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I attended the Celtic Week many times as a teenager and young adult, where I had the opportunity to learn from fiddle legends such as Martin Hayes, Liz Carroll, Kimberley Fraser, and many others. The late-night jam sessions were always a highlight, and I made so many great friends during my years at Swannanoa. I wrote this tune during Celtic Week in 2013.
